It Starts

Back in the swing of things again!

(and by back in the swing of things, I mean "writing blog posts/scanning the interwebs in class again!"

I failed, horribly and completely, and the December craft challenge.
You probably don't even know what I'm talking about.
That's how much I failed.

I SUCCEEDED, though, in my holiday book list!  I didn't read the exact books I wrote on the list but I did read 6 overall which I feel is mission accomplished.  They were....

People of the Deer- Farley Mowat:  I lovelovelove Farley.  I do!  He does an amazing job at assessing and appreciating humanity

Tales of the Pacific- Jack London:  This was fun!  My first taste of London, so it was cool getting a bit of an idea of his story telling, which is slightly pessimistic (in regards to humans) but delightful nonetheless

Decoded- Jay-Z: Unexpectedly awesome!  I would especially encourage this for those poets and music-lovers among us

Jack-Timothy James (my dad, yo!):  Definitely a cool story, proud of him!

New Years/Birthday Godfather party!

So many things have happened lately.  Christmas, New Years, my Birthday....let me recap...
But I will only be recapping my birthday.
It's my blog I can do what I want.

Colin and the Dalhouse threw a Godfather New Years party, partially as a treat for my birthday (I've always wanted that theme!)  It went off swimmingly, everyone looked amazing, and the food was delish (wait, we made the food...)
I am so blessed!

We've done a ton of skating this season, it's been so lovely!  We're trying to check out as many of the local rinks as possible.  The only downside to Calgary's currently balmy winter is the ice gets sloppy : (

We had a big family dinner this past Friday and made it Cajun-ish-themed.  I made Jambalaya (I've been convinced of the slow cooker) and mama made Ahi Tuna Tacos.  A few dear friends came by and we finished off the night with some always ridiculous/awesome Wii Just Dance!

The final celebration involved skating with Cho at Prince's Island Park (Did you know this existed?? GO!) and dinner at Boxwood.  If you ever get the chance, please go to Boxwood.  It is a beautiful experience, both aesthetically and tastefully.

All this joy makes five hours of sleep and a three hour class seem like small change.
Love!!
